Quick answers

  • Choose one central idea before adding decorations.
  • A name and an age need clear space.
  • Discuss decoration materials and serving details with Mari.

Pick the story the cake should tell

A first birthday can become a castle, a rainbow, a flower garden or simply a name and the number one. Start with the image you want the family to remember. If the table already has a large themed backdrop, the cake can echo one colour or motif rather than repeat every decoration around it.

Scale one feature well

The portfolio includes princess cakes with a castle and butterfly wings. In a busy design, decide which feature is the hero and which should stay smaller. Large wings or a topper can change the overall height and the space needed for a box or table. Their materials, handling and removal should be discussed rather than assumed from the photograph.

Protect the lettering space

Send the child’s exact name, preferred spelling and age. If both Bangla and English are wanted, ask how to divide the text between the cake and board. A short birthday line is easier to place around flowers and decorative borders. The message library can help you choose wording without adding several competing lines.

Plan the practical details

Explore the kids’ ideas hub for broader options. A decorative first-birthday cake is not automatically suitable for an infant; discuss ingredients and any dietary needs separately.

Questions people ask

Does the cake need many themed details?

No. One recognisable feature, a name and a controlled palette can make a clear brief.

Can I include two languages?

Send the exact text in both languages and discuss the available lettering space.
